How much is that doggie jumper in the window...

I can't remember if I've told you, but I'm part of a group that knits, crochets or sews items to sell for mental health charities. The group was set up by Jane George, whose 19 year old son Llyr, committed suicide in 2020. In the past 5 years, she's organised us, run stalls, and together with the group, has raised almost £100,000. A huge chunk of the donations go to small, local mental health charities, rather than the larger ones who are known nationwide.

My speciality? Knitting dog jumpers and I'll be passing three along on Tuesday:

I'm in awe of Jane - so much good has come out of unthinkable heartbreak. If you'd like a look, the website is https://www.knitformentalhealth.co.uk/ and just recently this little charity https://gryffsmindspace.co.uk/ had a £2k donation.

A lot of others do much more than I do, but every dog jumper sold helps!

  1. Love it, Helen! What a great cause, and I'm sure that all of your work is very much appreciated. Lovely jumpers, which will be a godsend to three pampered pooches this coming winter :)
I've also got involved in supporting a little group in Cornwall by our eldest son. He runs a men's group weekly, with additional breakfast meetings in the summer. It's amazing how valuable these little groups are to the people they support. Thank you for highlighting this amazing cause.
